A Very Proud Aunt!

I'm very proud and excited to say Melissa & Andrew welcomed Ryder Scott Mitchell to the world this morning....Happy Birthday Ryder! Even though Mel ended up having a c-section, her and baby are doing great! These are the first pictures of Ryder....so adorable, he defintely looks like both of them. :) I can't wait to see him in person when I fly out in February but until then we, along with mom and dad, have set up Skype accounts so we can 'see' everyone in real time vs. pictures. What a great way to bring in the new year! I've entered the actual stats for the baby pool so be sure to check out the results.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas! I still can't believe how time flies, pretty soon we'll be in the new year! To kick off my four day weekend I baked a batch of candy cane cookies hoping they'd last through the weekend since they are our favorites. For Christmas Eve we went to mom and dad's for meatball subs, cookies and exchanged a few gifts. David and I did our Christmas this morning and enjoyed our brunch egg casserole and coffee cake..yummy! :) Mom and dad are coming over tonight for Christmas dinner to have ham balls, cheesy hashbrowns & green bean casserole. All my hard work of not overeating so far is going right out the window, oh well! We're going to spend the rest of the day relaxing and watching some good movies on T.V. until I have to start cooking. Weather permitting, I might brave it and join David on Monday to go ice fishing! We'll see how that adventure goes so I'll keep you posted. :)

I got to thinking how we are all SO excited for Melissa & Andrew's big ;) bundle of joy to arrive that I would create a baby pool so we can start placing our bets! My boss, who just had her first baby in October, had a baby pool created for her and it was a lot of fun. Snow, snow and MORE snow! Since Friday at midnight through the wee hours of Sunday we received about 20+ inches of snow! I know this is 'normal' for here but not all at once so it's a good thing it was during the weekend because I couldn't leave if I wanted to. David got a new/bigger snowblower as an early Christmas gift since our freebie we used last year just couldn't handle all the snow and it was a good thing because we'd still be buried! He's currently at work in the frigid temperatures doing snow removal as I sit in our warm house at the computer, sorry honey! Amazingly enough his KIA Spectra gets around really well in the snow as he's usually the first one on the road but we still miss our SUV! Lets hope the below zero temperatures and wind doesn't last as long as they are predicting because we aren't meant to live as eskimos!
