I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks at work. Despite what the 'news' may say about the real estate industry our company has done quite well again this past year. Although our local market was down overall, all of our offices were up from 2009 sales & our competitors.
David started his job search for a local police officer position when he returned home from the academy in September. There hasn't been many opportunities in our immediate area, most positions are near Madison or Milwaukee which aren't in our sights at this time. In November he applied for the position that opened in Holmen which is his dream job. He was contacted to take the written test in December and he's moved to the next step of physical testing which is next Saturday. We're keeping our fingers crossed and praying that he moves on to the next group where the interviews start. It's all about who you know in that line of work and fortunately my boss is good, long time friends with one of the men on the Police & Fire Commission and he put in a good word! Until then we'll continue to hurry up and wait!
To help pass the time we have Annie for the next week while mom and dad are visiting Melissa, Andrew & Ryder. We're enjoying having her to hang out with since she claims the middle cushion of our couch when she's here. HaHa
That ice fishing adventure never happened since the weather wasn't ideal for ice fishing. I can't say I was overly disappointed ;) maybe another time!
