Ranger David

David started his new job as Park Ranger for Perrot State Park here in Trempealeau just over a week ago and is LOVING it! He works evenings but has had some swing shifts with training so he hasn't quite established a routine yet when it comes to sleep. He's enjoying getting to know our park/community and even discovered new fishing grounds :) What's not to love?!?
Heya BooBoo where's my pic-a-nic basket?

I'm keeping plenty busy at work right now so I don't mind being home alone in the evenings to wind down. We're in the process of bringing several more agents on board in my office so I requested we add a staff person so I can delegate some of the extra helpings on my plate that have accumulated over the last 3 years. So I guess one could say I'm getting a promotion :)

Our garden is growing......slow but sure. The weather has been less than ideal for plants so far this year. It's rained more days than not. The plus side is, we haven't paid for any of our water but the plants aren't growing either because it has been too cool. There's a chance for FROST tonight in the surrounding counties. I know we live in Wisconsin but this is nuts even for here. It's Memorial Day weekend we should not have to cover our plants from the cold instead we should be hosing them down from the heat like last year. sigh.............I do have little baby plants from the seeds I planted so that's encouraging! Snap peas and broccoli so far. Next batch will be green beans and radishes.
Bring on the warmth!
