Parker-1 Month Old!

I can't believe my baby is a month old already! Time is going so fast and I'm glad we've been good about taking photos each day so we can look back at how small he was because he's already changed so much.  He's been wearing 0-3 month sizes for his short sleeve onesies since the weather has been so warm but I have a feeling his newborn size footed onesies won't be long enough anymore :) He's filled out quite a bit in the face and belly and I can't wait to see what he weighs in another month when we go back to the doctor.  Every day he gets stronger and has pretty good neck control & spends more time awake looking around at everything. I can't wait for him to smile at us because he means to and not because of gas!

I introduced the bottle about a week & a half ago when I was able to borrow a breastpump from a friend and he took it right away with no problems :) We want to keep him on breastmilk for as long as possible but now we know when I have to go back into the office in 2 weeks daddy & grandma will be able to feed him. The next step will be to introduce formula in the next week as a back up for those two days I'm at work so let's hope he's not picky for that either.

Parker likes.....eating, cuddling with anyone, car rides, his lamb swing & stroller rides

Parker dislikes....diaper changes (if he's hungry), lotion after a bath, hiccups & having gas ;)

2 Week Checkup

Wednesday was Parker's 2 week checkup and he passed with an A+ :)  He was up to 7.2 oz and 21 inches "tall" so he did just what he was supposed to do.....grow :)  He doesn't go back now until he's 2 months old so I won't have any new stats on him until then but here are some more photos!

Our New Family

We welcomed Parker Lee into the world Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 6:01 p.m. weighing 6lbs 14oz and 19 inches. Although smaller than we anticipated he's absolutely perfect!! :)

I knew he'd arrive early but after my regular appointment that Friday morning and no dialation and my midwife saying it'll probably be another week, Parker had other plans. That evening about 8 p.m. after chatting to David on the phone briefly at work my water broke & I had to call him right back. Needless to say he was a little suprised! He had to find someone to cover for him so I called mom to come over until he got home so we could head to the hospital.  We arrived at the urgent care entrance just before midnight with my contractions coming every 5 minutes and so began our journey.  Although it was 22 hours later that he was born, it really wasn't as bad as 22 hours sounds. I could handle the contractions until about mid-afternoon Saturday when I transitioned into the second stage so when the timing was right I did take same Nubain to catch some sleep since I had been up since 7:30 a.m. Friday. From there my midwife put me on Pitocin to give me a boost and within an hour I went from 6 to 10 cm and was ready to push. Everything went perfect and I am so happy I was able to deliver naturally with no meds and the entire nursing staff was wonderful throughout our entire stay :)

David was amazing throughout the entire labor. He kept it calm & quiet so I could focus on my breathing and was by my side the entire time. I am so thankful for such a wonderful husband and he's already an amazing dad. I love you!

We're all doing great (although sleep deprived the first week for sure) but we're getting the hang of things and learning all about each other. Parker had his 3 day checkup and this Wednesday is his and mine 2 week checkup so I'll have some new stats to share.

Here are some pictures we've gotten with our camera. I'll have to figure out how to get the ones from our cell phones since we use those more often. Enjoy!

On our way to hospital-last photo of just the two of us!

Let the Countdown Begin!

Our little man's arrival is fast approaching and we can't wait!  I just had my 36 week checkup yesterday which starts my weekly visits. My midwife has estimated him to be around 8lbs so I really hope he arrives sooner rather than later!  We have everything in order, well that pertains to him, so now it's the hurry up and wait.

We finally were able to redo the floors in our house & really wanted to do it before he arrived so nothing like waiting until the last month :)  We have just our bedroom to do and the house will be done & put back in order this weekend but that will be a separate post with lots of before & after pictures.

In the meantime, here are a couple of photos I had mom take last night while she helped me get some more things put back together in our living room. I had the same top on as my last post & there is a definite difference in size not to mention the puffy, tired face hahaha
